Shiba pic of the day. I am sure Hoshi would agree. http://bit.ly/bCEn9y

I think Shiki's anxiety and nervous disposition has been the cause of a lot of her stomach problems. It's more apparent now than it was before. Right now, the vet has me giving her antidiarrheal and antacid medication to help narrow down the exact cause of her chronic diarrhea and vomiting--we have also tried different diets to see if it is a food issue. But we think a big part of it is her anxious disposition. Now she is on a bland diet to help calm the stomach. It's a good day when I can get her to eat some of her bowl of food other than occasional treat like cheese and chicken jerky (we are always trying to make sure she has something in her stomach). For anxiety, Hoshi has been a big help with showing her that people can be fun--it's a very gradual work-in-progress though--it's still very bad when the streets are busy (even with mellow Hoshi)--and she is extremely reactive to noise and movement. We'll see what happens.
After the dog park, both dogs got bathed yesterday. Hoshi did not scream like a girl this time. He only screamed when I cleaned his ears with solution. Shiki did well and actually seemed to enjoy it a little. They smell nice and their coats are soft. :)
After returning with Hoshi from a quick potty run, the scent of roasted chicken was wafting on our floor. Hoshi ran excitedly to a particular neighbor's door and started scratching at it. I was so surprised! I had to knock to find out that he got the right neighbor—they just finished a dinner of North African roasted chicken!
